GENERAL ANSWERS
What does this program do?
Answer:The Viddi Radio Player offers you a huge world wide selection of internet radio stations.
Find radio stations based on type or geograpic location and start play them at the click of a button.
First you have to select type or region in the drop down box at the top, example: "Dance & Techno". A complete list of all streams matching your search will then load into the bottom drop down box.
With several hundred streams in one little program your no longer need those browser based 'radio players' overfilled with ads. :)
For a complete list of all radio stations included in this version of the viddi player, check out the 'radio stations' section of this webpage...

STREAMING ANSWERS
What firewall ports do the Viddi Radio Player use?
The Viddi Radio Player (VRP) uses 'standard ports' for playing Windows Media or Real media streams.
You may be required to open default ports on your firewall/router for Windows Media Player and/or RealPlayer.
Visit http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/serve/firewall.aspx and http://service.real.com/realplayer/streamhelp/ for more info.

INSTALLATION ANSWERS
Why do I need both Windows Media Player & Real Player installed?
Answer: WMP is used to play any asx or other windows media formats, but it cant handle all RealMedia formats. Components from the RealOne Player is used for this.
You may be able to use viddi radio player without RealOne, but all streams will most likely not work!
(requires older version of the real player or RealAlternative)
Where can I download the Viddi Radio Player?
click here and follow the instructions on the download page
Component 'RMOC3260.DLL' or one of its dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid
Answer: Download the free RealOne Player from real.com
(the free basic version will work, you do NOT have to sign up for the 14 day trail)
http://www.real.com/realplayer.html?pp=home
Alternative solution - Real Alternative:
"Real Alternative will allow you to play RealMedia files without having to install RealPlayer/RealOne Player."
http://www.free-codecs.com/download/Real_Alternative.htm
Where can I download extra skins?
http://www.customize.org/list/viddi provides you with a list of skins available for download.

DATABASE ANSWERS
How do I add a new station to my database?
Answer: Try following these 3 steps:
- Click the database icon (D) => Local Database => Add New
- Fill inn all form field
- Hit the OK button
In the below example I want to add a stream for "Mostly Classical" from Digital Imported. (http://www.di.fm)
1. Open the webpage of the radio station
(http://www.di.fm)
2. Check if they offer any online live radio and try find a direct link for the live steam.
Some radio stations offer more then one bandwidth (modem, isdn, broadband) or playback option (windows media, realplayer, mp3).
3. Right click the shortcut for the stream you want to add and click "copy shortcut"
In my example I want to use the mp3(winamp) high speed stearm for best possible sound quality. (http://www.di.fm/mp3/classical96k.pls)
4. Now switch back to the viddi radio player and start filling in the form.
(Click the database icon (D) -> Local Database -> Add New)
Name:
Will be displayed in the drop-down box and on the 'display' of the VRP.
"Digital Imported - Mostly Classical"
Hompage(url):
Enter the url for the radio stations webpage so you can later use the "info -> visit radio stations webpage" from the VRP.
Stream url:
"rigth click -> paste" if you followed the steps above
"http://www.di.fm/mp3/classical96k.pls)"
Stream type:
What kind of steam technology is the radio stream using ?
(Windows Media, Real or mp3 ?)
In this example I used the mp3 steam, so i select "mp3" from the drop down-list.
5. Hit the OK button
The new station is now available in your favourite list.
Sometimes the radio stations list the direct link(s) for the live radio steam(s) they have available, other radio stations expect their listeners to be using a internet browser based player. For those you may need to check the source of the html files to find the direct stream url(s).
